In our previous blogs, we extensively went through the conventional mode of generating the e-way bill i.e. the web based mode, wherein we navigated the e-way bill portal on a computer. However, apart from the conventional mode, one can also register for e-way bill via SMS, Android, GSP, API & Transporter modes.The GSP Mode is more for the GST Suvidha provider, and the API mode is more for the application developer, who would want to integrate his business management software with the e-way bill portal. As such, these two modes will be used by specific audiences for specific purposes. However the remaining 3 – SMS, Android & Transporter – are primarily for the benefit of businesses and transporters who will operate the e-way bill portal for business purposes. In this blog, we will understand how you can register for SMS, Android & Transporter modes of e-way bill on the portal.In order to activate these 3 modes, you will need to:
- Log on to ewaybill.nic.in
- Enter your User Name and Password, then the Captcha Code, and then click “Login”, as shown in the picture below:
- On successful authentication of your credentials, the main menu of the e-way bill portal will open up. On the left hand side, click the option “Registration”, as shown below:
How to register for e-way bill via SMS Mode
In order to register for e-way bill via SMS mode, you need to follow the steps given below:
- Click the option “For SMS” under the “Registration” tab, as shown below:
- On doing so, the following screen will be displayed, wherein you will need to enter the registered mobile number which you have used for registration on the e-way bill portal
- Click “Send OTP”
- On receiving the OTP on your registered mobile number, enter the same in the “Enter OTP” field
- Click “Verify OTP” and then click “Exit”
- On doing so, the following screen will be displayed:
- Select the User ID from the drop down menu, after which the mobile number registered against the selected User ID will be auto populated by the system. On this screen, you will also be able to see a list of all User IDs who are tagged against the same mobile number, whom you may have created and updated on the portal
- Once you click “Submit”, the system will allow the particular user to generate e-way bill through the SMS mode
Note: You may register for e-way bill via SMS mode for a maximum of 2 mobile numbers against a single GSTIN.
How to register for e-way bill via Android Mode
In order to register for e-way bill via Android mode, you need to follow the steps given below:
- Click the option “For Android” under the “Registration” tab, as shown below:
- On doing so, the following screen will be displayed:
- Select User (from the drop-down menu), post which “Name” and “Place” fields will be auto-populated by the system
- Select “Yes” option for the “Do you want to enable android app?”
- Click “Save”
- Post this, you will be able to activate the concerned user for the Android mode. You will also find options to feed in the IMEI number for the concerned user and save the details in the e-way bill system, which will be displayed on the same screen
- Once the details are saved, the system will allow the particular user to generate e-way bill through the Android mode
How to register for e-way bill via Transporter Mode
Occasionally, you may want to generate an e-way bill for other parties as a transporter. In such a scenario, you can use the Transporter Mode, to navigate the portal as a transporter. In order to register for e-way bill via Transporter mode, you need to follow the steps given below:
- Click the option “For Transporter” under the “Registration” tab, as shown below:
- On doing so, the following screen will be displayed:
- Since you have logged into the portal using your registered mobile number, the same will be auto-populated by the portal in the “Mobile Number of main user” field
- Click “Send OTP”
- On receiving the OTP on your registered mobile number, enter the same in the “Enter OTP” field
- Click “Verify OTP”
- On doing so, the system will ask you, whether you would want to enter Transporter Mode. You can check the “Yes” box, save and proceed. In case you want to go back to the normal registered taxpayer mode, you can check the “No” box, save and proceed.
